Winter Grounds Work
During the winter months, The Grounds Team continues to work on certain projects as time and weather permits:

Grave Repairs - The Grounds Team continues this important task, even in the midst of winter, because we understand how important it is for grave sites of loved ones to appear neat, finished and cared-for.  Filling graves to grade (grass level) and finishing with topsoil is our first priority.

Sodding - While the weather conditions may limit or inhibit work on the grounds, and in many cases, totally eliminate any sod or turf work whatsoever, the Grounds Team continues to repair grave sites with new sod when conditions do permit and when sod can be obtained from an outside source.

Tree Work - The winter months sometimes provide optimal conditions (frozen turf) to trim and/or remove diseased or decling trees from the grounds.  This is important work, not only for aesthetic purposes, but also to eliminate the potentially hazardous danger posed by falling limbs.

Memorial Installation - The Grounds Team is very limited by the condition of the grounds in this endeavor but even so, installation of memorials has continued throughout the winter.  The Grounds Team has also invested some time in leveling memorials that have settled over time.

We would like to hear from any of our visitors, families or patrons if a grave site is identified as in need of repairs, a tree appears to need our attention or if a memorial needs our attention.  Please contact Bob Hunter, Senior Vice President by using the contact information at the bottom of the page.
